Clark Atlanta announced the hiring of Nicole Bazona as the second softball coach in program history.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Nicole Bayona as our new head softball coach. Coach Bayona brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to our program. Her impressive 34-16 record at Keiser and her 2022 national championship at Florida National University are testaments to her energy and commitment to fostering a championship culture. We are excited about the future of Clark Atlanta University softball under her leadership.” said Director of Athletics Dr. Jerel Drew
Coach Bazona comes to CAU after spending the last two seasons coaching at Keiser University, where she helped lead the team to the best record in the program’s history. Overseeing the pitching staff, Coach Bayona helped in the development of Lizzy Small, who garnered First Team All-Sun Conference in 2023 and 2024 and set a new program mark with 43 career wins.
In 2022 Bayona also served as an assistant coach at Florida Memorial University, where she helped the Lions capture the USCAA Small College National Championship.
Coach Bayona also served as pitching coach at Broward College in 2019 and St. Thomas University from 2020 to 2021.
